Tennis take 1

Pat at some point in his life enjoyed playing tennis. He played in middle school.

With all of the beautiful weather we have been having (yesterday not included). I was trying to think of an outdoor activity that would be new and fun. I have no Idea what made me think of that at Walmart today but I walked away with 2 new rackets and a bag of balls.

Pat was very excited about the idea as we have courts at the apartment which makes it very convenient. at about 2pm we set out for the courts (Our downstairs neighbor is still moving in which made it an adventure, they moved stuff off of the truck and onto the yard and parking lot). After braving the jungle of furniture we arrived at our destination to find the courts locked. This is not really a surprise they lock it and have a key at the gym and at the front office. Apparently the office hours have changed. When we arrived at the office it was locked up tight and was only open now on Sunday's.

We walked the long way around because I remembered that one of the apartment walls was close enough to the road/parking lot that we could hit the ball a little, thus preventing a total loss of amusement for the afternoon. It would have been a great idea if the whole wall was made of brick. Pat hit the upper wall a few times leaving me to wonder how loudly they could hear it in the apartment. Just after the 2nd time he hit the upper wall and I called it quits the ball went flying into a drain. Another sign that it was not a great idea.

We will try again tomorrow.
