Rebate Check Week

I need to work on my patence. The rebate check should come this week (or be mailed this week). I can't wait to pay off my student loan. Unfortunitly I have to.

Lethargy

I slept horribly last night! Today I am lethargic, cooking myself in the laundrymat did not help. At least it's Sunday and though I could not spend the day by the pool as planned (thunder storms), I relaxed and rested.

The Problem With Exercise

Apparently Yoga is not a great idea after running for 30 min, when you don't run. I did not hold my lunges correctly and my knee hurt today. At least it was only when I put weight on it while bending it. I went easy today tomorrow I'll hit the treadmill again.

Gym Follies

I discovered today why gyms often restrict children often under the age of 18 on premise. I went to the complex gym today and their was a girl under the posted 21, I'll guess 14. She was walking on the treadmill on the very SLOWEST setting .02? She would take a step then tap the side then repeat, when she got board she would turn around and walk back-words then turn around and drag her foot on the belt for a few minutes (while standing on the side). Then she must have gotten really board she decided to run on the treadmill. Sounds normal right?? Well she did not have sneakers on, sigh, so she took her shoes off. EWWWWWWWWWWW!! The running must have tired her out, or she lost interest but she was soon walking around the rest of the gym with no shoes on. I lost track of her at that point. but who walks around a gym with bare feet.

I remember going to the gym at that age or even younger, I definitely did not do anything like that. The kicker is I would have used that treadmill. Luckily the elliptical was open so i still got a good workout.

Sorry Daddy!

I have family photo's all over my desk at work. One of the adjusters noticed one of the photo's and asked "who's the old man?". I looked for the photo of my grandfather to point out and make sure we were looking at the same photo. Unfortunately he caught me and pointed to the photo of my mom and dad, yes my dad was the old man he asked about. He looked like his elementary school teacher.

I suppose after years of being 39 there is no denying that my father is (I can't say it). At least his age has perks, he's got 2 grandkids on the way and he's retired.

Verizon III

Verizon had an appointment to run their wires through our apartment for the neighbor downstairs. Pat calls me at work at around 4:30 asking for the neighbors phone #. Apparently she needed to be there for them to fully finish in our apartment. Nothing goes well with these people. They say they had an appointment but seeing how they are so truthful, I'm guessing that she did not have an appointment. I spoke with the lady at the front desk, she got a hold of her after 30 mins. Thank fully the maintenance man was allowed to let the installation people into her apartment or they would have had to come back to our apartment a 3rd time.

After all was said and done 2 people from Verizon came to sell us their services. Needless to say I was not interested and politely slammed the door in their faces. This made Pat very proud of me.

Relaxation

Today was perfect, aside from gong to the gym I did not do much. I went to Colonial Park which is a cute park close to my house. At this park there is a rose garden, so I spent the afternoon smelling the flowers. I'll have to go back next weekend with my camera. Too bad I discovered this park after the peak rose season, but better late then never.

OSHA

Every year Pat has to take (and pass) a OSHA class. His new company did it today (yes a Saturday), though they were bribed with a baseball game I didn't think that was quite right. It's a good thing my opinion matters little in this case as Pat did not seem to mind.

To my dismay I awoke early (7am). I really should be able to sleep in when I'm out late the night before. It turned out to work out just fine as I had plenty of time to eat breakfast with Pat before he left for his meeting/class. I got a good hour workout in before showering, then Michelle called to meet me downstairs giving me just enough time to pack up and spend some time on the computer reading.

We went to borders and wondered around, I saw some books I would like to read but the library is a better option for me as I already seem to have quite a few books. I have to say barns and nobles is a better bookstore it provides comfortable seating for reading and hanging out.

We looked up a restaurant that was supposed to be 20 min away. Unfortunately 2 of 3 lanes of 95 were closed and it took an hour to get close to the correct exit. Silly us could have used the detour button on her GPS but it was forgotten until we got off the incorrect exit. It was so late we decided to go back to a restaurant near the hotel, but the ride back couldn't even be uneventful. As we were exiting 95 we passed a car going the WRONG way on the exit ramp. I'm not even sure they realized what they were doing.

I had a great nap in the car ride home and am looking forward to a quiet night.

Verizon- Prolog

Years ago when I first moved to Hackettstown I tried to get the home phone set up. Pat had not bothered as he did not want one, I felt it would be good to have so I called Verizon. The lady I spoke with said their was a balance on the line and she could not set up phone service for our apartment. I explained that we had just moved in and did not order phone service for several months after the move. She said she could not do anything bacause of the balance though she would happily take a payment.

I asked for a supervisor who reiterated what the original representative had told me, so I asked them for a bill to prove that I owed them money. Of course that is not possible as you can't send a bill to anyone other then the person who owes the money, which they informed me. I happily pointed out that they should set up my phone service because the debt was not mine as they had just stated. They then accused me of living with the previous tenant and helping to rack up the bill. They offered to let me prove that I indeed was not living there at the time by sending along bills to prove where I was living.

After blocking out any information I did not want to give them, mostly where I had spent money and how much was spent, as I felt this was none of their business, I faxed in the information. They rejected the information saying it wasn't enough to have a bill sent to an address they wanted to see where my money was spent. After this Pat got on the phone and told a few people off before we hung up. In the end we saved money by having the cell phone as our primary phone and I'm not sure a house phone is ever needed. They lost the phone industry a customer for life, good going!

Verizon

The other day a sub-contractor from Verizon called to schedule an appointment to run cables through our apartment for our neighbor. We agreed on Monday between 3-4PM, Pat was available to be there. The guy called me at 2:45pm Monday to inform me that he was unable to come because of some rule of doing 2 apartments at once. I was very unhappy as Pat waiting for the guy and I had completely emptied the closet as they asked me to do. I let him know that we were available on Saturdays (except this one) and if they needed another weekday they would need to call and see if Pat was available.

So I call the front office today to check on the oven problems, only to find out that the contractor is telling everyone that I canceled on him. He also is saying I won't work with him at all on rescheduling an appointment. GRRRR! I could not believe what I was hearing. I was Pissed (and still am). I called Pat to vent and he was impressed at how mad I was, as I am usually good at keeping my temper in check.

Anyway when I got home I went to talk with my neighbor and let her know what was going on. I also let her know exactly what I was planning on telling the contractor. She nicely gave me the Supervisors phone # so I could call him directly. She seemed a little upset at first but I think she understood, though she did let me know that she needed it done as soon as possible.

I just want them done so I can get Verizon out of my life. At least Chris is calling to tell off the Verizon person. I almost wish I could call him myself.

Anne's Wedding

The other day anne called to tell me about her engagement. I tried to restrain myself from asking 3000 questions (it was more like 1000). Her Fiance was visiting for the weekend and it had just happened.

So I called her back today and the poor thing had to answer all of my questions. She did nearly shock me into silence when I asked her if they had a date, THIS November! 7 months away. It may be a smart move on her part as that's less time to stress about getting stuff done but WOW. She does sound like she has allot done already. Oh and it's a BRUNCH reception. I can't wait.

Our pet is back. Grrr.

Pets

Pat and I seem to have acquired some new pets in our attic, Boy do they like to get up at 5AM. They arrived yesterday and I called today to have them removed so hopefully we will be able to sleep in peace soon. I do wonder what it is last time i guessed it was a squirrel and it turned out to be a 35lb raccoon. This time i called it in as a raccoon and they seem to think it will be a squirrel. It is more noisy but in a different way (running and playing this time, digging at the ceiling last time). I wonder if they will let me know.
